Oaks Capital Group (OCG) designs homes around the way people want to live rather than around how many square feet fit on the lot. We’re a design-led residential company, founded on international experience in real estate design and development and focused on innovation, wellness and quality of life. We bring together architects, designers, engineers and licensed builder partners from the Sarasota area and run them as one team, under a documented Quality Management System.

Jeff “JW” Johnson

Founder & Managing Member

Jeff “JW” Johnson brings international experience in real estate design and development to every OCG home. He has also spent his career building and running a business where much of what clients trust him with can’t be replaced. He developed and manages the quality management system behind it: every step documented, every process held to certified quality standards, and nothing left for clients to wonder about.

That combination shapes how OCG works:

  • Innovation with a purpose. Design ideas and building technology from international projects, adapted to Southwest Florida’s climate, storms and club-community life.
  • Quality of life and wellness first. Clean air and water, natural light, quiet rooms and less upkeep, planned from the first sketch.

Qualified Partners · How We Qualify

We qualify the firms we bring you.

OCG runs a documented Quality Management System, and supplier qualification is the part of it that applies to partners. Before we introduce a firm, we verify its license with the State of Florida where one is required, hold a current certificate of insurance, contact references, and write down what it is qualified to do. We re-check on a schedule. Qualification is not exclusive — more than one firm can be qualified in the same discipline, and we add builders, interior designers and specialists as they complete the process.

Clay Henson

Henson Contractors, Inc.

One of the builders we work with

Clay Henson owns Henson Contractors, Inc., a licensed and insured Florida general contractor that renovates and builds homes around Sarasota and Venice. Henson Contractors has completed OCG’s qualification for home improvement, renovation and new construction, and is one of the firms we introduce when an OCG design moves into construction or an owner wants to improve the home they already have.

He knows the luxury golf and club communities here, including The Oaks Club in Osprey: how their homes were built, what their architectural review expects, and which trades do good work. That local knowledge saves owners time and surprises.
